Former Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Waring has tied the knot in a secret Maldives ceremony.The star and Tom Thornton-Brookes, who have been together for almost four years, were just planning to go on holiday.

But they decided just four weeks before to get hitched while there. Explaining the whim decision to OK! magazine, Steph says, “When we booked this holiday to the Maldives, Tom said: ‘Do you want to get married?’ and I just replied, ‘Yeah.’” Tom adds: “I was having a look online at where we were staying and I saw they did weddings.

I’m quite an impromptu person in some senses, so it just felt right.There were conversations ongoing about how we were going to do it and whether it would be abroad, so we just jumped at this chance.” The couple made the decision to wed at the idyllic five-star Ifuru Island resort in secret, telling only Steph’s daughters, Mia, 18, and Lexi, 13. “I told them what we wanted to do and asked, ‘What do you think?’” says Steph. “And they were just, like, ‘Go for it.’” Mia and Lexi were also the first to have a peek at their mum before she headed down the aisle. “I FaceTimed Lexi before going, and when she saw my wedding dress she burst into tears,” she smiles. “She’s very much like me – we’re very similar.

She’s very funny and caring and is so happy for us. She loves Tom to bits.” “We woke up, went for breakfast, spent some time at the pool, then started getting ready for the ceremony,” says Steph, 46.Tom, 44, who works in private security, added: “The way everything has transpired, it feels like it’s meant to be.
