Eilish McColgan has endured so much pain in the past 12 months she admits just lining up for the 10k final in Paris feels like a victory.

McColgan has become the first Scottish track and field athlete to compete at four Olympics. But at one point that looked like mission impossible when a doctor told the 33-year-old she’d be lucky to ever run again never mind make it to Paris.
