Edinburgh Airport unveils 'world first' shortbread vending machine
dailyrecord.co.ukEdinburgh Airport has unveiled the world's first-ever interactive shortbread vending machine.Those travelling to the Scottish airport this summer will be able to pick up Walker's Shortbread from the brand new machine during their journey.
The iconic biscuit brand unveiled the installation in partnership with the UK’s leading travel retailer, World Duty Free.The "first of its kind" interactive machine welcomes customers to the 'World of Walker’s', where they can learn more about the history of the 125-year-old brand.
They can also enjoy a complimentary shortbread finger, before being recommended a product to purchase in the World Duty free store as they pass through.The vending machine invites travellers to take a digital quiz, which matches them to a particular Walker's product.
It will then teach them more about the Scottish Highlands, where the world-famous shortbread is made.Customers will hear how the brand's beloved shortbread recipe has remained in the Walker family recipe books since founder Joseph Walker baked his first batch more than a century ago.
