Ed Sheeran Reveals He 'Cured' His Stutter By Rapping Eminem Songs

Ed Sheeran has Eminem to thank for aiding in a cure for his speech impediment. During his appearance on The Howard Stern Show last week, the 32-year-old “Eyes Closed” singer shared that the rapper’s own songs helped him get rid of a bad stutter he had when he was a teen. Keep reading to find out more… Ed shared that he had been gifted Eminem‘s album, The Marshall Mathers LP, when he was just 9, and as he rapped along to the lyrics, he found he stuttered less. “By learning that record and rapping it back to back to back to back, it cured my stutter,” he said on the show. Ed also opened up about his unique bond with Eminem, after first meeting in 2017. “I think it’s different with Eminem because he is quite reclusive, doesn’t see or meet that many people,” he says. “I’ve known him now six years and we’ve done three songs together, I’ve played with him twice on stage.

He’s another person I really relate to, as he lives in his hometown still and has his ecosystem around him.” Ed previously opened up about his stutter in his documentary, The Sum of it All.
