A flight heading to Turkey has been forced to divert to Manchester Airport this morning (September 30) due to ‘extraordinary circumstances’.

The 7:15am easyJet flight from Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport was set to land in Antalya, in Turkey, at 11:40am UK time. However, the aircraft had to U-turn because of a bird strike.

Flight tracking data shows the flight left on time, and headed east over Manchester, across the Pennines, and over Lincolnshire before making the U-turn over the water near The Wash near East Anglia.
