Eamonn Holmes has sparked some controversy following his much-anticipated comeback to GB News on Tuesday morning. The 64 year old broadcaster addressed the public for the first time since the announcement of his split from Ruth Langsford.The Belfast-born TV host showed appreciation for the support during his separation, saying: "Your support for both of us is very much appreciated."Although Eamonn briefly mentioned his divorce before quickly moving on to the day's newspaper headlines, he didn't shy away from critiquing less serious news items.

This led to some viewers calling him "irritable" and "rude".He also made light-hearted remarks about Chancellor Rishi Sunak being snapped while playing football, comparing him to a dull school headteacher, the Mirror reports.He joked: "Can this man get any more boring than he is and this business of conscription, this business of maths.
