Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. Trump was born and raised in the New York City borough of Queens, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.
The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $3.1 billion.
Donald Trump’s Classified Documents Trial Delayed Indefinitely
deadline.comDonald Trump‘s trial on charges that he obstructed justice and withheld classified documents has been delayed indefinitely, a federal judge wrote in an order today.
The decision by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon means that it is all the more likely that Trump’s hush money trial may be the only criminal proceeding he faces before the November election.
Last year, Trump was indicted four separate times in cases in New York, Florida, Georgia and Washington, D.C. Cannon wrote that the “finalization of a trial date at this juncture” would be “imprudent and inconsistent with the Court’s duty to fully and fairly consider the various pending pre-trial motions before the Court, critical [Classified Information Procedures Act] issues, and additional pretrial and trial preparations necessary to present this case to a jury.” The trial in the case was scheduled to start on May 20.
Trump’s trial in the New York hush money case is likely to still be ongoing at that time, but Cannon also had indicated that a host of issues also had to be resolved, including those having to do with the use of classified documents in a public proceeding.
