Devastated tributes to paid to Manchester couple killed in Majorca floods tragedy
manchestereveningnews.co.ukMore tributes have been paid to a Manchester couple who died whilst on a hiking holiday in Spain. Sarah Jane Thompson, 26, and her boyfriend Alexander Barrett, 32, were swept away by huge floods on Majorca earlier this month.
Their bodies were recovered following a major search and rescue operation. Sarah, who lived in Levenshulme, was found dead in the Torrent de Pareis region of the Tramuntana mountain range the following day (September 4).
The body of a young man who matched Alex's description had been found, the country's Civil Guard confirmed two days later. After news of the tragedy was shared by the Manchester Evening News yesterday (September 19), a flurry of further tributes have been posted online by those who knew them.
