Dear Coleen: My mother-in-law promised to pay for our honeymoon but hasn't brought it up again

So far, she hasn’t given us the cash she promised, which has left us out of pocket, and I don’t know what to do.When we were organising the wedding, my husband’s mum made a big deal of offering to pay for the honeymoon, as my parents were funding most of the wedding, with my husband and I contributing what we could.I was thrilled, as we couldn’t afford a honeymoon somewhere really special.
So I told her I’d book it on my credit card and she could pay me back. She agreed that was a good idea but it’s now July and she’s showing no signs of offering the money.It’s so awkward because I don’t want to ask for it and neither does my husband but, on the other hand, we only booked it because she told us she was happy to pay for it.If I’d known she’d do this, we’d have gone somewhere closer to home for a few nights.
What should I do? The credit card payments are already killing us but I’m too embarrassed to say anything. Please help! Coleen says I think your hubby needs to be the one to say something to his mum.
