Eight and a half years after David Letterman signed off as host of CBS’ The Late Show, the comedian is returning to the Ed Sullivan Theater.
He will appear on the show Monday, Nov. 30, to be interviewed by his successor, Stephen Colbert, for the first time. The Late Show with David Letterman on CBS launched in 1993 following Letterman’s highly publicized exit from NBC.
He welcomed Colbert on the show in April 2015 after the former Colbert Report personality had been named the new Late Show host.
Since leaving The Late Show in May 2015 after 23 years, Letterman has been hosting his Netflix interview series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.
