Coronation Street star Alan Halsall has given a fresh insight into his 'unglamorous' recovery after going under the knife towards the end of last year.
The actor revealed on social media that he was having surgery in November to fix an ACL injury. The ACL is one of two ligaments that cross in the middle of the knee, connecting your thighbone to your shinbone and helping stabilize your knee joint.
In the photo shared to his Instagram page, Alan could be seen giving a thumbs up for the camera. At the time, Alan, who is famed for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, shared a picture of himself pre-surgery and said at the time: "ACL Reconstruction surgery [tick emoji].
Well, On Friday I underwent ACL reconstruction surgery. I have been told the surgery went really well. I know I have a long 9-12 months of rehabilitation ahead of me but I’m sure with the support of family & friends I’ll get there."
