Weddings can take years of planning and organisation, but not for former Hollyoaks star Steph Waring who decided to plan her wedding in just four weeks.

In fact, the 46 year old's big day to new husband Tom Thornton-Brookes on July 15 couldn't have been more stress free - despite the short time scale - as they wanted a perfectly private wedding.

Steph exclusively told OK! from their villa at the idyllic five-star Maldives resort Ifuru Island: "I knew I wanted something small and had always liked the idea of getting married abroad.

When I found out I was leaving Hollyoaks I was desperate to book a holiday after I finished filming." The actress - who wrapped up her role on the soap earlier this month after 28 years - continued: “When we booked this holiday to the Maldives, Tom said, ‘Do you want to get married?’ and I just replied, ‘Yeah.’” The couple said 'I do' in a stunning Maldives ceremony on 15 July and began their wedding day with a dip in the pool. “We woke up, went f up, went for breakfast, spent some time at the pool, then started getting ready for the ceremony.
