Coronation Street's Joel star issued word of warning by bosses over soap role

The actor joined the ITV soap last year and described being cast in the show as a dream come true. Before joining Corrie, Calum could be found flogging cars as he took on different jobs - including a stint at Junkyard Golf Club - in between acting gigs - which included an appearance in 2021 on Hollyoaks in which he played PC Carlton Smith in the Channel 4 soap.
He previously told the Manchester Evening News: "I’d had an unsuccessful audition at Corrie before and they said, 'If they like you, they will get you back in, do not worry'.
I was a bit down because if you’re working class and northern, all you want to do is something on Coronation Street."
