Viewers will recall sicko solicitor Joel was behind the disappearance of troubled youngster Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). Joel wormed his way into Lauren’s life after helping her out with bills, eventually coercing her into a sexual relationship.
He then left he for dead after bashing her head in, following a heated argument. Lauren ended up returning to the cobbles - much to the surprise of Joel.
She also revealed that she was pregnant with his child - which led to Joel attempting to kill her. In harrowing scenes, Joel drugged Lauren in a desperate attempt to kill the baby.
