Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known professionally as Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, and television judge. After singing in church during her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager.
Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson under her birth name in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations and she subsequently began working with producers Glen Ballard, Dr. Luke, and Max Martin.
After adopting the stage name Katy Perry and being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.
BBC viewers tuned into the King's Coronation concert in their droves as the highly-anticipated event took place at Windsor Castle on Sunday.
More than 20,000 people gathered for the first time on the royal grounds since the new monarch was crowned on Saturday for the star-studded event which featured the likes of Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Take That. But some eagle-eyed fans at home have been talking of the 'irony' of one particular song that was performed on Sunday, as writes the Mirror.During the incredible two-hour show, classical musicians Andrea Bocelli and Sir Bryn Terfel's took to the stage for a rousing rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone. Some social media users said it was a sly but savage response to Liverpool fans, who had booed during the national anthem when their team took on Brentford in the Premier League clash earlier the same day. Some Twitter accounts even suggested that King Charles himself chose the song himself. One fan said: “Not them singing you’ll never walk alone after the Scousers booed the national anthem," alongside two images of Charles in hysterics.“Singing you’ll never walk alone at the #CoronationConcert oh the Liverpool and Celtic fans will love this”, said another.Another Twitter user said: “I won’t lie.
It is hilarious Andrea Bocelli singing you’ll never walk alone at the kings concert the day after we booed the anthem.”Paloma Faith, Nicole Scherzinger and Olly Murs also performed at the spectacular last night but the show didn't please all fans.
