Co-op Live temporarily suffered a power cut this afternoon ahead of a big show this evening - but bosses have insisted tonight's concert will go ahead as planned.

The 23,500-capacity music venue, situated next to Manchester City FC’s Etihad Stadium, suffered an outage this afternoon (October 28) as production crews geared up for a performance from Sum 41 tonight.

The Canadian pop-punk outfit, who rose to fame in the early 00s, are set to play the venue tonight as part of their Tour of the Setting Sum shows which has been billed as the band’s final set of gigs before disbanding. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, a source, who asked to remain anonymous, claimed that venue staff had originally been told to work from home or in the city centre following the incident this afternoon.
