Those who are lucky enough to have an outdoor space will be ensuring it looks as beautiful as possible ahead of the summer season.Plenty of tips have flown around social media including not mowing the lawn until the rain is gone, which flowers to pick for spring and how to keep your grass looking thick and luscious.

Now, experts have revealed a simple trick that will make your garden look bigger, reports the Mirror. No matter how little your garden is, there is a failsafe way to make it look much bigger - and it's all to do with the colour that you paint your fence.Gardening expert Fiona Jenkins from MyJobQuote has revealed that if you opt for more natural colours on your fence - such as sage green - then they will visually enlarge the landscape and trick your eyes into thinking the garden is bigger than it actually is.

Fiona said: "Soft green fencing creates visual continuity in your garden, especially if your garden contains plenty of green border plants."The expert also said that it "visually extends the landscape", and blurs garden boundaries, "creating a feeling of expansiveness".The gardening guru also noted some gorgeous flowers that will brighten your space up this spring - such as Camellias, Daphnes, Bergenias and Hyacinths.

If you plant them in the coming days then these flowers will bloom by the time the weather warms up - and will become a focal point of your garden.Fiona also recommended painting the fence light blue to imitate the colour of the sky if you aren't a fan of more neutral colours.
