A park built less than 20 years ago for the benefit of the people living nearby has “fallen victim to neglect”, say concerned locals.Clyde View Park’s once splendid pond is no longer being cared for, insists Councillor Jamie McGuire, and worries have been raised about the effect on the park’s wildlife.

Of particular concern is the Renfrew park’s pond, which is said to have become overgrown with vegetation. The park was opened in June 2005 after being built for the residents of Ferry Village.

It is privately owned but the Paisley Daily Express understands that the park is managed by 4th Property Services. Blair McNally, who has lived in the area and used the park since 2010, said: “I think it’s a disgrace the way the pond has been left if I’m honest with you, especially with the amount of wildlife in it.“I’ve seen the park deteriorate so much from what it used to be.

It used to be that good of a park that I’d go swimming with my mates in the fountain, but the fountain’s not been on for years now.
