Mourners have gathered in Aberdeen to hold a vigil in memory of allegedly murdered teenager Brianna Ghey. Dozens stood outside Marischal College on Saturday, February 18, to pay their respects to the 16-year-old, who tragically died last weekend.

Brianna, a transgender girl, was found stabbed to death at a park in Cheshire, with a 15-year-old boy and girl arrested on suspicion of murder.

News of the teenager's death rocked the LGBT+ community and has led to an outpouring of grief.The Aberdeen gathering was the third to be held in Scotland after events took place in Edinburgh and Glasgow earlier this week.

Images show residents gathering in the Granite City to light candles in Brianna's memory.Guy Ingerson, co-convener of the Aberdeen Greens and one of the organisers, told Aberdeen Live: "We have organised a vigil for Brianna Ghey, who died in Warrington over the weekend.
