Former Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder experienced Scottish football up close and personal...but not from the dugout. The 55-year-old is making the most of his break from management and was in attendance for the Lowland League leaders' 3-1 win over East Stirlingshire on Saturday.

Wilder's visit was for pleasure, however, Record Sport revealed last month he gave some thought to putting himself in the mix to become the next boss of Aberdeen before deciding against the chance to succeed Jim Goodwin.Wilder will be hoping his free Saturday's don't last forever, however, he was more than welcome in Edinburgh as the club shared the snap with their followers on social media.

Spartans, posting on the Twitter account, said: "An interested spectator at today game was former Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder.

Come back soon, Chris, and be our lucky mascot again."Wilder spoke openly last month about what he has learned in the dugout and why his stint with Middlesbrough proved ill-fated.
