Jordan Moreau “Speak No Evil” is ready to make some noise at the box office this weekend. The Universal and Blumhouse horror remake, released two years after the terrifying Danish original film, made $1.3 million in previews at the box office.
It’s expected to make between $10 million and $13 million at the box office in its opening weekend, which would be a solid start considering its budget was just $15 million. “Speak No Evil” won’t stand a chance against Warner Bros.’ “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” which opened with a scary good $111 million last weekend and will keep the box office crown for the second week.
Ticket sales for the Tim Burton sequel are projected to decline about 60%, putting its box office total to around $45 million in its second week.
James Watkins (“Bastille Day”) directed “Speak No Evil,” a psychological horror about vacation friends gone wrong. American couple Louise and Ben, played by Davis and Scoot McNairy, meet the odd British pair Paddy and Ciara, creepily portrayed by McAvoy and Aisling Franciosi, while on a trip abroad, they’re invited to stay with them over a weekend.
