Body of missing woman found by police and lifeboat crews

The body of a missing West Belfast woman has been found in a lough in Co Donegal. Sally Reilly, a 55 year old mother of four, was reported missing from Sandybanks Caravan Park in Portsalon at 2:10 am on Bank Holiday Monday.A search and rescue operation was initiated by Gardai with support from the RNLI, local residents, and other agencies, but tragically, the Turf Lodge woman's body was retrieved from Lough Swilly late on Monday evening.A statement was released reading: "Gardai in Kerrykeel, assisted by Coast Guard, Mountain Rescue, the Coast Guard Helicopter, the RNLI rescue boat and local people carried out a search in relation to a missing woman."They confirmed that "A body of a woman, was recovered from the water at approximately 9 pm on Monday evening, 27th May, 2024." Following the recovery, "The body was removed to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem will be conducted in due course and a file prepared for the Coroners Court.", reports Belfast Live.

Sally's family will welcome those wishing to pay their respects at her home from Wednesday afternoon.Her funeral procession will depart from her residence on Saturday at 9:30 am, heading towards Holy Trinity Church for the 10:00 am Requiem Mass, followed by a service at Roselawn Crematorium at 11:20 am.
