Body of man recovered at Scots beauty spot after search and rescue operation

The body of a man has been recovered from a beauty spot in West Dunbartonshire.Emergency services raced to Rosneath Bay, near Helensburgh, after the alarm was raised at around 9.30am on Friday.

A search and rescue operation was launched after police received a report of a man in the water.Tragically, the body of a 52-year-old man was later recovered.

His family have been informed. Police say their enquiries are ongoing, however, they are not treating the death as suspicious.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A search and rescue operation was launched this morning, Friday, August 16, 2024, after police received a report of a man in the water off Rosneath Bay, near Helensburgh.“The body of a 52-year-old man has been recovered and his family has been informed.“Enquiries are ongoing, however, we are not treating the death as suspicious.
