Big Brother's Marcello has ignited a storm of controversy among viewers. The broadcast regulator has received 72 complaints concerning Marcello's conduct and his alleged misogynistic remarks after an episode of the ITV2 reality show was broadcast on October 11.This follows Marcello's claim that he shared a "kiss" with fellow housemate Ali in the smoking area.

Upon returning from their break, Marcello, aged 34, boasted to the other contestants that he had kissed 38 year old Ali, who is openly lesbian.Nevertheless, Big Brother aired footage of them vaping to show the audience that no such event took place.

Viewers were incensed by the sequence, with some even calling for the producers to intervene and address Marcello's actions.

One viewer expressed on social media: "Is Big Brother gonna step in and caution Marcello's behaviour? It is becoming uncomfortable.", reports the Mirror.
