Bebe Neuwirth & Steven Skybell Join Cast Of Broadway’s ‘Cabaret’ Revival
deadline.comBroadway‘s upcoming star-filled revival of Cabaret has added two-time Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth and Fiddler on the Roof‘s Steven Skybell to the cast, with the former Cheers star playing “Fraulein Schneider” and Skybell set for “Herr Schultz.” Neuwirth and Skybell will join the previously announced Eddie Redmayne, Gayle Rankin and Ato Blankson-Wood in the cast.
Producers announced the new additions today. Officially titled Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, the revival begins previews at the August Wilson Theatre on Monday, April 1, 2024, with a press opening on Sunday, April 21.
Rebecca Frecknall directs. The casting reunites Neuwirth and Skybell, who previously appeared together in 2012 Off Broadway production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Classic Stage Company. “I’m completely thrilled to be a part of this beautiful production,” said Neuwirth, who won Tonys for her performances in Sweet Charity and Chicago, “and to help tell this fascinating tale through the sublime score of John Kander and Fred Ebb.” Skybell, whose Broadway credits include “Tevye” in Fiddler in the Roof in Yiddish, Pal Joey; Wicked; The Full Monty; and Love!
