Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known professionally as Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, and television judge. After singing in church during her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager.
Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson under her birth name in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations and she subsequently began working with producers Glen Ballard, Dr. Luke, and Max Martin.
After adopting the stage name Katy Perry and being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.

Brand has converted to Christianity and told his social media followers that he was baptized during an “incredible” ceremony in the River Thames supported by Grylls. ‘I want to thank Bear Grylls and my mate Joe, the two men that stood either side of me and flanked me for the baptism itself,’ Brand said in a video.

Wild, later confirmed his role in a statement to The Daily Mail newspaper. “Faith and spiritual moments in our lives are really personal, but it is a privilege to stand beside anyone when they express a humble need for forgiveness and strength from above,” he said. “Friendships when we go through tough times are worth so much.” Brand appeared on Nat Geo’s Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge last year, during which they ventured across the Hebrides and discussed the comedian’s relationship with Katy Perry.
