A new BBC documentary exploring the social media frenzy around the Idaho murders where four university students lost their lives has been released.

Documentary maker Zara McDermott will focus on the social media storm that followed the harrowing and tragic deaths of the students.

In November 2022, the small American town of Moscow was shaken to its core after four students were killed. Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Madison Mogen, had been stabbed to death in a town mostly populated by students.

As global interest in the case started to increase and police continually told the public there were no suspects, 'internet detectives' started digging for information and posting their theories online.
