BBC Strictly Come Dancing star told fellow dancer to 'put sock in it' away from cameras

Strictly Come Dancing star Chris McCausland says he told his fellow contestant to 'put a sock in it' as he revealed how he spent the first live show of the series when not performing.

The comedian is the first blind contestant to ever take part in the BBC One dance contest. During the pre-recorded launch show earlier this month, Chris was seen being paired with professional dancer Dianne Buswell.

The first live show of the 2024 series the took place on Saturday night (September 21), which saw all 15 of the new Strictly couples perform together for the first time followed by the judges' comments and scores, which created the leaderboard which will be carried into week two. Chris, who lost his sight aged 22 due to a hereditary condition called retinitis pigmentosa, has since offered an update on how he found his first experience of a live Strictly show alongside Dianne as part of their daily video series Dianne has dubbed 'CHRIS'S DIAnneRIES'.
