A BBC Radio 2 travel presenter was forced to halt her broadcast as she was left in tears live on air. Bobbie Pryor was courageously trying to deliver her travel report on Sara Cox's teatime show on Tuesday, 13 February, having just found out the tragic news about the death of her former colleague and friend, Steve Wright's.The radio legend passed away at 69, his family confirmed today in a heartbreaking statement.

Sara had already been emotional, but as she turned to Bobbie for the latest travel update, Bobbie began: "Thank you, Sara. So first of all, the M8 on the Westbound side...still partially blocked, really long delays because of that accident earlier towards Whipburn but you can get through just eventually." "The A75 we have got that closed both ways, accident is still being investigated." She continued: "M6 on Merseyside stretch on Northbound at junction 23, there is a breakdown at Haydock. They have moved it out of the way but it's still slow." "M60 anti-clockwise, the earlier breakdown 17 to 16 has gone, still big queues though back to the M62.

And the M6 Northbound, two for Coventry, three for Nuneaton, we have still got two lanes closed..." Bobbie started to cry and apologised as she had to stop the report to gather herself. "You're doing well," Sara comforted her co-star as Bobbie tried to carry on: "Let's just do the M1 on the Southbound side." Bobbie's voice broke again as she said: "For Dunstable South, there was an accident, we have cleared it now." "Steve would kill me for this if I was in tears," she added as Sara agreed. "He would." "Jesus, you did well there," Sara praised as her co-star struggled to hold it together. "Actually, I just want to say it was pretty difficult," Bobbie shared.
