The actor bowed out of the show after six years following his character's heartbreaking Motor Neurone Disease (MND) diagnosis.
The former builder was told he had the life-limiting illness in April 2023. And 17 months on, in heart-wrenching scenes in Monday night's Corrie (September 9), Paul died after his health took a sudden turn for the worse and he was left struggling to breathe. However, he did think he got to tell Paul how he felt over the phone. In reality, Paul had already tragically passed. Summer Spellman, Bernie Winter and Gemma Winter-Brown are now keeping the secret as they prepare to say goodbye to Paul.
