BBC Breakfast star forced to step in as host replaced after heartbreaking health update

BBC Breakfast has seen a significant reshuffle of presenters. On Saturday, May 11, viewers found the morning programme reshuffled.

Usually, Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt helm BBC Breakfast from Thursday to Saturday. But for the latest episode, Naga was back to welcome viewers - however, Charlie was nowhere to be seen.

Instead, show regular Ben Thompson had stepped in to co-host to give viewers a rundown of the latest headlines.This change comes after Naga shared an update on her health last month, talking about feeling pressured to hide the "constant, nagging pain" brought on by her health condition.The 49 year old presenter of BBC Breakfast was diagnosed in 2022 with adenomyosis, a condition characterised by the lining of the uterus invading the womb's muscle.This can lead to pelvic pain and heavy bleeding during menstrual cycles among other symptoms, reports the Daily Star.

Opening up about her experience, Naga told Metro: "I have done all my life: through my GCSEs, through my A-Levels, through my degree, and every job I had.
