BBC Breakfast star Victoria Valentine has recalled two horrific incidents in her life as she paid tribute to the "hero" who supported her through it all.

The TV presenter made the stunning revelations on Instagram as she celebrated the birthday of her beloved dog, Prospero. Victoria had taken to the social media platform to share a series of images to celebrate the pooch's 13th year but also looked back on tragic times in her life when the pet was around to support her.

Victoria captioned the post writing: "Today, a tribute to the most remarkable soul on his birthday." Labelling Prospero "the hero", she opened up on a number of horrific incidents she had got herself caught up in.
