Sean McGinty admits Ayr can’t keep relying on their road form to bail them out of trouble. The United skipper insists their disappointing Somerset record has to change.

Morton were the latest to profit with George Oakley’s late winner on Saturday, consigning Ayr to a fifth home defeat on the bounce in all competitions. And McGinty admits it’s all the more frustrating on the back of good wins at Queen's Park, Airdrie and Dunfermline. He said: “We’ve just had some really good wins away from home but you’ve got to back that up by winning your home games.

We’ve not been good enough here this season and I’m not really sure why that is.“We seem to play with a bit more freedom away from home and have scored a lot of goals.
