Ayr’s very own chart-topping DJ is back with another ‘big room belter’ track, dropping this Friday.Platinum-selling Ewan McVicar releases his new single ‘Groove Thang’ on Friday (July 21), ahead of a packed out summer schedule, which has already seen him entertain crowds at world-renowned music festival Glastonbury.Ewan’s latest single is hailed as an ‘infectious’ track that combines ‘soulful vocals with pummeling bass and kick’.‘Groove Thang’ embodies the summer-defining energy of ‘Tell Me Something Good’, which samples Rufus and Chaka Khan’s 1974 hit of the same name and shot to the charts in 2021.‘Tell Me Something Good’- named ‘Electronic Track of the Year’ by BBC Radio 1 - paved the way for major career milestones for the 29-year-old, including the launch of Pavilion Festival - a lifelong dream to put his hometown of Ayr back on the musical map.Pavilion Festival, which welcomed 7,500 dance music fans to Ayr’s Low Green back in April, has now been secured for the next five years. The incredible homecoming gig was also the subject of BBC documentary ‘Ewan McVicar: Back Tae Ayr’, which aired last month and went behind the scenes of Pavilion Festival, as well as charting his rise in music over the past few years.Ewan said of his latest single ‘Groove Thang’: “I’ve not brought out a big vocal chuffer in ages, [I’ve] missed the energy.

I’ve neglected this part of my products.“Using signature stabs and beefy kick and bass, the reaction to this in my sets has been unbelievable.“It was the best reaction at Pavilion Festival and its made me so excited to go again.”‘Groove Thang’ lands on Friday, July 21 via Ministry Of Sound.
