Attacker told to pay compensation after assault in East Kilbride taxi rank

A man who was badly hurt in an assault at an East Kilbride taxi rank is to get £1500 compensation from his attacker. Jamie Jeffrey, 21, avoided a prison sentence when he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

He admitted assaulting the victim to his severe injury and permanent impairment at the rank near Churchill Avenue on November 27, 2022.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
