Armed cops swoop on Scots town seizing BB gun as teenager charged

A BB gun was seized and a teenager charged after armed cops swooped on a Scots town.Police units descended on Kirkcaldy yesterday afternoon around 3.35pm with armed officers spotted swarming around the School Brae area, after reports of a male youth in possession of a firearm.The Force has today confirmed that a BB gun was recovered from the scene and that a 15-year-old male youth has been charged in connection with the incident in the Fife town.Pictures emerged from the scene showing gun carrying cops outside of outside the Fife Ice Arena which is home to ice hockey team, Fife Flyers.Last night officers said they were conducting a search and urged that there was no threat to the wider public.

No one was injured during the incident.The youth will be reported to the Youth Justice Management Unit.
