Adele Roberts is leaving BBC Radio One after eight years, the broadcaster has announced. The presenter, 44, had hosted the Weekend Breakfast Show since 2020 after previously fronting the station's Early Morning Breakfast Show.
But it has now emerged the Southport-born DJ has already presented her last show, which was in May. On Wednesday, the BBC announced Adele would be leaving to pursue other projects.
Sam MacGregor and Danni Diston are set to take over, with the show relocating from London to Cardiff. Station bosses said listeners would 'continue to hear Adele's voice across the radio as she continues to be part of the BBC family.' Adele first rose to fame in 2002 as a contestant on Big Brother 3, where she finished in seventh place.
She joined the BBC in 2012 as a presenter on Radio 1Xtra before joining Radio One in 2015.She took over the Weekend Breakfast Show in November 2020 as part of a big presenting shake-up.
