Adam Webb has become the latest American owner in Scottish football after taking over at St Johnstone. The lawyer, who is also a shareholder in Cambridge United, has now concluded the deal struck with Geoff Brown earlier this year to become the fourth US club spremo in the top flight, joining Tayside rivals Dundee United and Dundee, as well a Hibs after the SP+FA and EFL approved the takeover. It brings to an end the Brown family's near four-decades of holding a share holding in the McDiarmid Park club, during which the club won their first ever major trophy by lifting the 2014 Scottish Cup.

They then completed a historic double under Callum Davidson, lifting both the League Cup and Scottish Cup in 2021. And the outgoing chief has penned an open letter to fans, assuring them that Webb is the right man to take the reins in Perth and usher in a new era.It read: "First and foremost, it was, and is, incredibly important to me that the club is handed over to the right person.

Someone who will act as a suitable custodian while taking the club forward, continuing the good work that I feel has been done up until now.

I strongly believe that we have found that person in Adam."In all of my interactions with Adam, I find him to be a man of high integrity and I consider that he has the best interests of the club at heart.
