Abercorn House care home residents harvest joy picking pumpkins at local patch

A Lanarkshire care home embraced the spooky season by picking pumpkins at a local patch.Accompanied by staff, loved ones and some enthusiastic volunteers, residents from Sanctuary Care’s Abercorn House care home in Hamilton explored the Halloween scenes and carefully selected their preferred pumpkins at Valley View Adventure Park in Carluke before tucking into a delicious lunch, washed down with a warm cup of hot chocolate.The care home has provided nursing, dementia, palliative and respite care to the local community for over 15 years, with the Halloween activity being organised by their activities coordinator Von Ryan Ong, who commented: “The pumpkin picking went down a storm with our residents.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
