Barbie is here and it looks like a daydream. It's Don't Worry Darling meets Stepford Wives meets Lego Movie meets Clueless meets Legally Blonde meets Life Size. After , viewers can finally take a longer look at Barbie Land, which seems to be populated exclusively by perfect and perfectly-groomed happy-go-lucky beach dwellers.Set to the Beach Boys' “Fun Fun Fun” (the song about a girl stealing her dad's T-bird), the clip promises, well, a ton of fun.

All the iconic toy details are there: Barbie's feet are permanently bent to accommodate a high heel, she drives her pink convertible without steering, and she seems to greet everyone with a smile and a wave. But the Ken played by Ryan Gosling seems to want more from his relationship with the Barbie played by Robbie.

He asks to spend the night at the dream house (to do what? He has no idea), and challenges Simu Liu's Ken to a fight. Later, he follows her to the Real World, annoyingly bringing his roller blades along (you may remember the absolutely iconic set photos of Robbie and Gosling roller blading in costume).“Hi Barbie,” “Hi, Ken,” are the first lines of the trailer, echoing the opening dialogue from Aqua's (unauthorized) hit “Barbie Girl.” I see what you did there. It's giving rom-com, it's giving self-discovery, it's giving childhood yet not nostalgic?

Gerwig, along with co-writer (and the IRL Ken to her Barbie) Noah Baumbach appear to be keeping things light, and we spotted at least a couple dance numbers thrown in there.
