But he did make an error. The actor, who is famed for playing Steve McDonald in the ITV soap, a role he has held for more than more years, took to the social media platform to pay tribute to his wife Emma Gleave on what appeared to be their anniversary.
It is reported that it was Simon's on-screen mum Beverley Callard, who played Liz McDonald on the cobbles, who introduced him to Emma on the show back in 2005.
And as the saying goes, the rest is history as the happy couple tied the knot five years later in a lavish ceremony and have been together ever since, now with their three sons in tow.
