Beau DeMayo, the creator and former head writer of X-Men ’97, opened up about his departure from the show and having his credits stripped from its second season.
If you were unaware, Beau exited the series ahead of the premiere of its first season on Disney+ earlier this year.
The series wound up being a certified hit for Marvel and the streaming platform. Taking to social media this week, the creator made some big claims about what happened behind the scenes, leading to a response from Marvel. Keep reading to find out more… In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Beau implied that he had his credits stripped from the show after sharing fan art that envisioned himself as a member of the X-Men during Pride Month. “Firstly, I’m so grateful to have worked on #XMen97, collaborating with some amazingly talented folks.
Creating this revival was a dream come true and the support fans have shown is so touching. However, I felt it pressing for me to speak up in the wake of leaving the show,” he wrote.
