A woman has died after a house fire in East Manchester. Greater Manchester Police confirmed a 50-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to Edale Avenue in Moston at around 12.10pm this afternoon (July 20).

Fire crews and an ambulance are also in attendance. An air ambulance was also seen landing in the nearby area, whilst CSI teams have been conducting searches within the cordon.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 12.10pm today (Thursday 20 July 2023), police were called to a reports of a fire at an address on Edale Ave, Moston. “Emergency services attended and sadly a 50-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. “Her next-of-kin has been informed and enquiries are ongoing at this stage. “Anyone with information should call 0161 856 4038 quoting 1436 of 20/7/2023.
