Wishaw MSP hosts Holyrood event with OAP charity focusing on malnutrition in elderly

Motherwell and Wishaw MSP Clare Adamson hosted a Holyrood event with older people’s charity Food Train focusing on malnutrition in older people in Scotland.

Food Train works in Lanarkshire through its Connects services, which matches someone aged 65 and over with a volunteer who supports them with shopping or meal-sharing - providing invaluable company along the way.

Research released by Food Train in tandem with the Scottish Parliament event showed that more than half of older people have been forced to change their eating habits due to the cost of living crisis, putting them at increased risk of malnutrition.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
