Quentin Jerome Tarantino (born March 27, 1963) is an American filmmaker, actor, film programmer, and cinema owner.

His films are characterized by nonlinear storylines, satirical subject matter, aestheticization of violence, extended scenes of dialogue, ensemble casts, references to popular culture and a wide variety of other films, soundtracks primarily containing songs and score pieces from the 1960s to the 1980s, alternate history, and features of neo-noir film.

Michael Douglas

Michael Kirk Douglas (born September 25, 1944) is an American actor and producer. He has received numerous accolades, including two Academy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, the Cecil B. DeMille Award, and the AFI Life Achievement Award.

The elder son of Kirk Douglas and Diana Dill, Douglas received his Bachelor of Arts in Drama from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His early acting roles included film, stage, and television productions. Douglas first achieved prominence for his performance in the ABC police procedural television series The Streets of San Francisco, for which he received three consecutive Emmy Award nominations.

Kirk Douglas

Kirk Douglas (born Issur Danielovitch; December 9, 1916 – February 5, 2020) was an American actor, producer, director, philanthropist and author. After an impoverished childhood with immigrant parents and six sisters, he made his film debut in The Strange Love of Martha Ivers (1946) with Barbara Stanwyck.

Douglas soon developed into a leading box-office star throughout the 1950s, known for serious dramas, including westerns and war films. During his career, he appeared in more than 90 films. Douglas was known for his explosive acting style, which he displayed as a criminal defense attorney in Town Without Pity (1961).

Will Ferrell to Be Feted With Kirk Douglas Award at Santa Barbara International Film Festival

Diego Ramos Bechara editor Will Ferrell will be feted with the 17th annual Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film at the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Since 2006, the award has been given to a lifelong contributor to cinema through their work in front of or behind the camera.

This marks the third time since Douglas’ death that the honor will be awarded. The prestigious award, which benefits Santa Barbara International Film Festival‘s year-round educational programs, will be presented to the comedian and actor of “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” “Barbie,” “Step Brothers,” “The Office” and many others.

Ferrell’s Netflix documentary “Will & Harper” premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Along with producing partner Jessica Elbaum, Ferrell is also the co-founder of Gloria Sanchez Productions.
