The club spent well over a month in talks with Paris Saint-Germain in an attempt to agree a deal. Ten Hag got his man though with United's new No.25 joining a host of fresh faces at the club.
Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazrauoi, and Joshua Zirkzee were all handed starts. Ugarte was not signed in time to be registered before the 12pm Friday deadline, meaning that although he trained with his teammates ahead of the match, there was nothing he could do to influence the result.
