Bomb disposal experts who seized "items of interest" at a flat in Glasgow have carried out a controlled explosion in a nearby field.

Explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) officers from the Royal Navy's Charlie Squadron, Northern Diving Group carried out the blasting following the discovery of items at a property on Petershill Road in Springburn.

Emergency services were called to the apartment shortly after 10am on Monday, April 17, after receiving reports of a suspicious package.

Around a dozen workers at nearby Carrick Packaging watched as the strictly controlled detonation took place on Tuesday afternoon, reports Glasgow Live.
