dailyrecord.co.ukA baby who survived heart surgery at just two months old was carried across the finish line of the Glasgow Kiltwalk on Sunday by her proud dad.Emotional Liam Campbell pushed 14-month-old Rosie around the three-mile route in her pram, but held his daughter aloft 100 yards from the end.Liam, 33, said: “It was so hard seeing her lying in the hospital bed getting prepped for surgery, with a million different thoughts running through our minds."My wife Kerry and I just couldn’t imagine life without her, but doing the Kiltwalk with her reminded me of just how precious she is.”Rosie was diagnosed with five holes in her heart and a narrowing of the aorta following a heart scan when a concerned health visitor noticed the tot wasn’t putting on any weight.Clydebank couple Liam and Kerry said waiting on her coming out of surgery was the “worst experience” of their lives.Liam said: “It was so frightening to see her going through that at such a young age.
We were made aware of the risks and told she might not make it.“The surgeons closed a duct in her duct and said the holes should close naturally with time, and she now only has one.“They’re not ruling out further heart surgery in future, but for now, it’s not causing any harm.”Liam and Rosie took part in the Kiltwalk for learning disabilities charity Enable Scotland.A regional co-ordinator for the organisation, Liam said: “Rosie was being tube fed for a while but it’s just recently been taken out, so the fact she came with me and helped me raise £1400 for the charity is great.“Enable is such a rewarding place to work, especially when you see the success of some of the people we support.”Thousands of other people took to the roads to help raise funds for more than 800 charities at the
