A violent brawl has broken out in broad daylight leaving one man seriously injured as another fled the scene.Cops received a report that two men were fighting in Heaton Park on Friday May 24.Emergency services raced to the scene and found a man in his 30s had suffered serious injuries.

Police say the second man fled the scene.Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened close to the junction with Bollingbrooke Street, reports the Chronicle.A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "Shortly after 1.35pm on Friday we received a report of a disturbance on Heaton Park Road in the Heaton area of Newcastle.

It was reported that two men were fighting on the street."Emergency services attended the scene, and a male aged in his 30s was found to have sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries.
