Two arrests have been made after a suspected cannabis farm was found at a house where a 'huge' fire broke out last night. Police attended Hilton Crescent, in Prestwich, along with fire crews from around 5.20pm on Thursday (August 24).

Two people were rushed to hospital after the blaze broke out, having reportedly 'jumped from a window', while neighbours described seeing a 'wall of flames' emerging on the street.

Now, Greater Manchester Police has confirmed a criminal investigation is underway following the fire. Two men, aged 44 and 20, have been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and abstracting electricity.

They remain in police custody for questioning this morning (Friday). Try MEN Premium for FREE by clicking here for no ads, fun puzzles and brilliant new features Huge clouds of smoke were seen billowing into the air after the fire broke out last night.
